2009 Audi TTS in Torrance, California
The 2009 Audi TTS is the TT Taken to the Next Level
The 2009 Audi TTS is the sportier sibling of the TT. The "S" line Audis come with more powerful engines, sporty exterior accents, and performance suspensions. A turbocharged 2.0 liter in-line 4 cylinder with direct injection give it an extra power boost in the form of 265 horsepower. The TTS comes in both coupe and convertible styles. Both include the types of performance features that make Audis such a pleasure to drive, such as quattro all-wheel drive and Audi Magnetic Ride suspension. In a review of the Audi TTS convertible, Jim Kerr of the Saskatchewan News Network said, "This has to be the fastest fully automatic soft-top I have ever used. In less than 15 seconds, I had converted from my warm, cosy cockpit to an open-air sense of freedom. I cranked up the temperature on the automatic climate control, turned the seat heaters on high and felt as if I could be comfortable even in the middle of a Prairie winter."
The performance features that contribute to a smooth and yet exhilarating ride in the TTS include quattro all-wheel drive which sends power to the wheels individually to increase overall road control, S tronic dual clutch transmission with launch control, and a 4 cylinder engine with spark-ignition, gasoline direct injection, a turbocharger with an intercooler, four-valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts (DOHC), and continuous intake camshaft adjustment. The direct fuel injection and turbo give the engine a broad range of torque and more horsepower. The TTS also incorporates Audi Space Frame technology, which means that the body structure is more rigid and lightweight. This means better handling, more ease of repair, more safety, and improved fuel econonomy. The suspension features that allow just the right amount of damping include Audi Magnetic Ride, MacPherson front suspension with an aluminum subframe, and four-link rear suspension with an enhanced damping system. The braking package includes a dual circuit brake system with diagonal split, hydraulic brake assistant, and ventilated front disc brakes.
The 2009 TTS has exterior features that give it that extra hint of charm. You'll enjoy taking in the big picture which includes Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, heated S exterior mirrors with power adjustment and integrated LED turn signals, heated windshield washer nozzles, and 18" five-parallel-spoke S design cast aluminum alloy wheels. Other attractive features include an automatically retractable rear spoiler which extends at 75 mph and retracts at 50 mph. It can also be operated manually. Beautiful elements unique to the TTS include larger front air dams, a Platinum Gray grille with chrome optic finish, aluminum optic exterior mirrors with LED indicators, extended rocker panels, a Platinum Gray diffuser with silver blade, quad exhaust pipes, TTS painted brake calipers with sports brake pads and exterior TTS badging.
You'll be tempted to spend a little extra time in the interior of the TTS because of elements like racing inspired Leather/Alcantara sports seats, a leather-wrapped, three-spoke, multifunction sport steering wheel with shift paddles, and unique TTS accents like brushed aluminum inlays. The audio and communication features in the TTS give you all of the information you need the second you need it. You'll enjoy a Driver Information System with a digital lap timer that includes radio, telephone, and navigation data, as well as information on the current operating status which monitors the condition of vehicle components. Your music, and dozens of satellite radio channels are only the push of a button away with Audi Concert AM/FM stereo which includes a single-disc CD player and Sirius satellite radio. Graduated Audio Level Adjustment (GALA) ensures the optimal volume levels as cabin noise increases with speed. The Radio Data System (RDS) displays several types of information on the FM radio signals including station, track and artist info. The Aux audio input jack allows the driver to plug an audio-playing device into the vehicle with seamless integration. Other important features include cruise control and a three button HomeLink system for conrolling your home's gates, lights, and garage doors.
Audi believes that you can never have too much safety equipment. The 2009 TTS comes with road-gripping, impact protecting, jolt-absorbing safety equipment that has been developed to offer you the maximum protection in dangerous driving situations. The airbags include full-size dual threshold airbags for the driver and front passenger and driver and front-passenger seat-mounted chest side airbags and knee airbags. Other important safety features include Audi hill hold assist which prevents the car from briefly rolling back when you are performing a hill start, side intrusion protection which consists of aluminum impact-absorbing girders resistant to flexing in the doors; activation of the side thorax and head airbags by sensors in the doors, which also contain side-impact protection padding, and three-point intertia reel safety belts for all occupants with belt tensioners and force limiters. Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) utilizes the car's various braking systems and traction control to help make the car easier to control in handling situations close to the limit.
